Even though it's not the best time of year for motorcycle riding in the Midwest, some exciting motorcycle events are still happening that you won't want to miss. From indoor racing to bike shows, these events have something for everyone, whether you're a rider or just enjoy being part of the motorcycle community.
Here are a few of the most popular events in the Midwest that you will not want to miss.
Mama Tried Motorcycle Show (February 17 through 19) – This motorcycle show takes place in Milwaukee, WI, at The Rave/Eagles Club and Fiserv Forum. Bringing in custom motorcycles and builders from around the world, you’ll find every type of bike imaginable from Yamahas to Harley-Davidson bikes and everything in between. During this action-packed weekend, you’ll find different events and parties at locations throughout the city, including the Harley-Davidson Museum. On February 17, Mama Tried’s Flat Out Friday takes place at the Fiserv Forum where riders from around the world compete in indoor flat track racing on a track coated in Dr. Pepper syrup.
World of Wheels Milwaukee (February 24 through 26) – Taking place at the Expo Center at Wisconsin State Fair Park, this event features a variety of vehicles on display, including hot rods, muscle cars, classic cars and custom motorcycles. The show is a great opportunity to see some of the latest and greatest in the world of automobiles and motorcycles, and is a popular event among car and bike enthusiasts of all ages. If you’re in the area, this is a must-see!
World of Wheels Chicago (March 3 through March 5) – Similar to the Milwaukee show, World of Wheels Chicago is an event that combines a car show with a custom bike show, making it enjoyable for all ages. The event is held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL, and attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year. The show is so large that you may need multiple days to fully take it all in. At World of Wheels, you can see the latest in custom motorcycles and hot rods, among other vehicles.
ABATE of Wisconsin Lobby Day (March 21) – ABATE of Wisconsin is an organization that advocates for the rights of motorcyclists and ensures that their voices are heard. They host an annual lobby day event at the Wisconsin State Capitol, where riders from across the state and beyond come to speak with legislators about issues and laws that impact motorcyclists. Buses, with some provided by Hupy and Abraham, offer free transportation to the Capitol for anyone who needs it. Everyone is welcome to participate in this event.
