A couple was out on an afternoon drive in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, when they were rear-ended, totaling the car they were driving. The passenger suffered a traumatic brain injury and an impingement to her spinal cord that caused paralysis from the chest down. She was immediately admitted to the hospital, where she recuperated for a month following spinal surgery. The driver also underwent spinal surgery for his injuries in the accident.
The insurance company did not want to pay the million dollar policy limits, but Attorney Jason Abraham threatened a lawsuit. The insurance company gave in and paid, for its policy limits of $1,000,000, within months of the accident.
