Our client, a 12-year-old child, went to her friend’s house to see if she could play. This is something she had done almost every day after school. On this particular day, her friend was not home. While there, our client came into contact with her friend’s dog that was chained up in the yard. Unfortunately, the dog bit our client causing injuries and scaring.
The insurance company claimed our client had not been invited on the property on that particular day and therefore they were not liable for the injury.
Attorney Thomas Perlberg filed suit. Shortly before trial, the insurance company made an offer of $40,000 to resolve the matter. That offer was rejected, and Attorney Perlberg took the case to trial obtaining a verdict of more than $80,000.
