On a cloudy November day in 2011, Hupy and Abraham's client was traveling east on Lincoln Avenue on a dry, cloudy day in West Allis, Wisconsin. As she was passing 69th Street, a westbound driver attempted to turn left in front of her, causing an accident. Our client sustained neck, shoulder and hip injuries as well as a back injury that required surgery.
Following the accident, the negligent driver's insurance agreed to pay its $100,000 policy limit. Hupy and Abraham pursued further compensation from our client's insurance provider but they refused to pay anything. They argued that our client had already received too much money.
After filing suit, Attorney Timothy Schelwat obtained an additional $135,000 by aggressively litigating the claim. The client's total settlement was $235,000.
