The firm is founded on the principle of doing well by doing good. Charitable donations and volunteerism are ingrained in the corporate culture. The firm has donated well over a $1 million to thousands of organizations in the past few years.
The ranking, published October 23, 2020 by the Milwaukee Business Journal, listed firms based on annual cash and in-kind donations. Employee volunteer hours are also considered and listed are major charities supported.
During 2019, as part of the firm’s 50th-anniversary celebration, employees selected Camp Hometown Heroes and personally donated their time and more than $10,000 of their own money to the nonprofit. Additionally, the firm sponsored hundreds of events and supported so many different causes throughout the year, including providing meals for more than 30,000 people over the holidays.
The firm’s Employee Volunteer Program allows 8 hours of paid volunteer time for each employee. The firm’s employees have donated more than 1,000 hours of their time to local community organizations in the past 2 years. Hupy and Abraham’s employee participation landed the firm in the Top 20 for volunteering, despite being the third smallest company listed.
