At Hupy and Abraham, our mission to “do well by doing good” is more than a motto. Each day, the firm and its employees strive to be active supporters of our communities throughout Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa. That is because, over the years, we've collected more than $1 BILLION for our clients and represented more than 70,000 injured people. That success had compelled us to give back to our community in many different ways, but most specifically by supporting local charitable organizations and sharing safety and awareness information to help people avoid preventable accidents and injuries.
Getting Involved
When you know you want to help make a difference, it’s sometimes difficult to know where to start. But, we’ve learned that when you consider what’s most important to you, there is always someone that can use your support, input or time. According to the Corporation for National and Community Service, you should ask yourself these questions when looking for an organization to support:
- What’s your passion?
- How much time can you give?
- What do you bring or want to acquire?
- Where and how do you want to serve?
- What benefits do you want from your service? Leadership, professional skills or just philanthropy?
We’ve had the opportunity of working with many organizations in the last year. Here are two great causes Hupy and Abraham had the pleasure of supporting in 2017 that would be great places to lend your support:
The Wisconsin Humane Society: In 2017, we partnered with the Wisconsin Humane Society, a highly productive organization that shelters animals of all kinds, provides lifesaving care for more than 24,000 sick, injured and homeless animals each year, while also finding them forever homes. Our sponsorship allowed us to sponsor four animals in need of homes during the year to get their story to the public, and even allowed employees to volunteer during work hours and lend a hand.
Habitat for Humanity: Our employees, as a gift to the firm owners, wanted to do something to help the community in a big way. So, our staff and attorneys spent nine months in a partnership with Habitat for Humanity to help to build a home for a local family in Milwaukee! Employees of the firm not only donated thousands of dollars but hundreds of work hours. Habitat for Humanity was a wonderful organization to work with.
