Since it’s not riding season in most parts of the country, many motorcyclists are feeling antsy about getting back on the road. Even though you may not be able to ride in the current winter weather, there are a few events across the Midwest that can help you get your motorcycle fix until riding season starts again.
Here are some can’t miss motorcycle events to check out this winter:
ABATE of Illinois State Seminar (January 17-18) -- ABATE of Illinois is a nonprofit organization dedicated to uniting all riders, ensuring that the rights and freedoms enjoyed by motorcyclists are preserved. The organization’s annual state seminar will take place at the Northfield Inn in Springfield, IL, January 17 and 18. This is a great event full of guest speakers, educational talks, live entertainment and an awards banquet. You can learn more about ABATE of Illinois and join their cause here: www.abate-il.org
ABATE of Wisconsin Lobby Day (February 13) – ABATE of Wisconsin advocates for biker rights and ensuring motorcyclists have a voice in legislative matters. Their annual Lobby Day event takes place at the Wisconsin State Capitol, bringing together riders from across the state and beyond to engage with lawmakers on issues affecting motorcyclists. Hupy and Abraham and Firm President Michael Hupy have been proud supporters of ABATE of Wisconsin for decades. The firm provides free bus transportation to the event from several stops in southeastern Wisconsin, making it easy for anyone to attend. This event is open to anyone who wants to help make a difference. Learn more at www.abatewis.org or take a look at Hupy and Abraham’s award-winning Behind the Handlebars video series to see highlights from past Lobby Days here.
Mama Tried Motorcycle Show (February 22-23) – This amazing motorcycle show is held in Milwaukee, WI, at The Rave/Eagles Club and showcases custom motorcycles and builders from around the globe. From Harleys and Yamahas to scooters and everything else in between, there’s something for every motorcycle enthusiast. Mama Tried weekend also includes the Flat Out Friday indoor motorcycle races, hosted at Fiserv Forum the day before the main event. Riders from across the world compete in high-energy flat track racing on a unique track coated with Dr Pepper syrup, delivering an unforgettable experience.
World of Wheels Chicago (March 7-9) – Part car show and part custom motorcycle showcase, this event offers fun for all ages. World of Wheels takes over the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL, attracting tens of thousands of visitors looking to explore the latest in custom motorcycles, hot rods and more. With so much to see and experience, you might need more than one day to take it all in!
