Nonprofit Centro Legal held the annual “Centro LeGala” event on June 21, 2018, at the Milwaukee Harley-Davidson Museum. Several firm employees and shareholder Attorney Todd Korb were in attendance, as Hupy and Abraham, S.C. was a sponsor.
Casey Fleming, vice president of the board of directors, acted as the host for the evening, which was primarily focused on fundraising for Centro Legal. Nicole Renouard, the organization’s executive director, gave a greeting to the crowd, and emphasized the importance that community support is to the success of Centro Legal’s programs. Molly Dobberke Riehle, a Centro Legal attorney, shared her experiences with clients that she helps every day, who have to make extremely difficult decisions that no one should have to make. During the special appeal portion of the night, attendees donated over $45,000 for Centro Legal, not including funds from the live and silent auctions.
Each year, Centro Legal helps around 2,000 people in the Milwaukee community. The impact is felt in many ways. Over 600 cases are taken in with over 800 consultations each year. Centro Legal is also able to provide family educational classes to around 500 people.
As a legal nonprofit, Centro Legal offers fee and low-cost legal services as a pathway to a better life for those that need it. The organization strives to help strengthen the community and makes families stronger through its efforts. Hupy and Abraham is honored to be able to support this organization, as everyone deserves to access legal help.
