Dear Hupy and Abraham,
This is a much delayed, yet very sincere thank you for your support of this year’s Big Event. It was truly because of your altruistic support and generosity that the 2016 Big Event was a resounding success and grossed over $105,000! Included in that total is $47,000 for our 2016 Fund-A-Wish campaign, “Waves of Change: Connecting People to Our Wonderful Resources”, which will provide subsidized access to water education programs for groups and schools in our area, as well as fund to install water interpretive signs and purchase much needed water education gear and equipment.
This year 266 members and guests renewed friendships, enjoyed delicious food and beverages and bid on over 140 auction and raffle items. Proceeds support the Discovery Center’s mission – to enrich loves and inspire an ethic of care for our Northwoods through the facilitation of connections among nature, people and community. Your support is crucial to our mission, but more importantly, to our ability to offer the North Lakeland Discovery Center as a destination where people can come, visit, and reconnect with the natural world.
