On October 21, the American Cancer Society held its first annual “MKE Experience” event — its third and final event of the season. Hupy and Abraham, S.C. president Attorney Michael Hupy was Chairman of the gala's planning committee. The committee planned a trilogy of events: the Inspiration Soiree, “Shoot Down Cancer” in a partnership with the Milwaukee Bucks and the “MKE Experience,” which was a night of entertainment, food and auctions with all proceeds going to ACS. He was joined by his wife, Suzanne, along with Attorneys Tom Perlberg and Todd Korb.
Keynote speaker Judge Joe Donald, who is also on the planning committee, gave a talk at the gala on getting screened for cancer. The mission of the committee is to have eighty percent of the under-served screened by the year 2018. More than $20,000 was donated during the event, including a $5,000 pledge from Hupy and Abraham, S.C. "MKE Experience" allowed for the American Cancer Society to beat its goal, and raised $126,000 over the course of these fundraising events.
The personal injury firm has helped out several organizations dedicated to cancer research and support. Hupy and Abraham, S.C. is a longtime supporter of the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse, the Lombardi Cancer Foundation and the This Time Tomorrow Foundation. In the past, firm employees have participated in “Lee Denim Day” and Relay for Live in support of the ACS.
